This might be Futaba's 2PHKA MJ (Magnum Junior) 2-Channel have always been Pistol Grip Radio with One S3003 Standard Servo.

If converted over for NiCd usage: The radio is diode protected to avoid overcharging, meaning that the battery can't be discharged through the transmitter.
