The Futaba GY520_S9257 bundle pairs the compact GY520 heading-hold gyro with the S9257 high speed digital servo, intended for RC-scale helicopter tail control and gyro-assisted tail-hold tasks. The two components are sold together as a matched set to simplify fitting a reliable heading-hold solution on an RC helicopter tail assembly.

The GY520 is a single-unit heading-hold gyro that integrates sensor and control electronics using a MEMS sensor and an advanced PID control algorithm. It supports selectable F3C and 3D modes, six programmable parameters, and high update rates (280 Hz in 1520 µs mode and 506 Hz in 760 µs mode). Programming can be performed from the unit’s button and multi-color LED or via a PC using Futaba CIU-2 USB adapter. The gyro implements an AVCS angular velocity control architecture intended to improve tail holding performance when paired with a suitable tail servo.

The S9257 is a high speed digital tail servo supplied with multiple horns and mounting hardware, designed to interface with compatible helicopter gyro systems. It includes two ball bearings to support the output shaft and is intended for direct connection to a gyro-controlled tail setup. Both items are RC-scale components for model helicopter use only.
