The 1968 Marathon De Los Angeles Route , a gruelling 84-hour event authorized by the FIA, was held at Nuburgring circuit in Germany on August 21 1968. The Track had been 22.8km long, and contained a continuously uneven area and corners of various characteristics. Mazda delivered a team two Cosmo Sport (export model title:110S) because of this tough competition, to be able to show the powerful, durability and dependability of these brand new rotary engine. The Long-awaited rotary engined Cosmo Sport was in fact launched on the japanese market in-may 1967.
