The notion of installing a Junkers Jumo 213A engine (until then used mainly on bombers) in a Focke-Wulf 190 airframe was born of a must increase the high altitude performance regarding the aircraft: the A and F versions, in reality, experienced a substantial fall in speed above 7,000m.
