The F4 Corsair is considered to be perhaps one of the most successful carrier-based fighter aircraft to be developed throughout the Second World War, although, when it first arrived to service, the technical specialists of the U.S Navy considered this large cantilever wing aircraft become unsuitable for use on aircraft companies.
