The B-52 Stratofortress is considered the most famous long range jet-powered strategic bomber in the aviation history. Produced by the United states business Boeing since 1955 it was, for some time, a symbol for the Cold War. It has been, for quite a while, the backbone for the united states of america Air Force Strategic Air Command. The B-52 is produced in a significant number of variations that slowly evolved the effective project to better response to the changing in functional needs. The “G” version is the most produced B-52 variant and possesses been brought to the S.A.C. wings from the very early 60s. It was characterized by a large number of modifications implemented as a more strong structure, the use of new avionic systems and, important problem for a strategic bomber, the longer operational range because of the increased fuel capability and the possibility to consider outside gas tanks.
