F-7F 3N TIGERCAT

The F7F Tigercat was developed by Grumman to be shipped on Midway aircraft carriers. However, trials revealed that the proportions of the twin-engined aircraft created serious operative issues, and soon a decision ended up being taken to destine the Tigercats, originally delivered to the Marines, to secure bases. Initial devices were in line over the past months of WWII, but were never ever aligned in an operative area. The F7F first saw service within the Korean War, in which the two-seat variation F7F-3N, loaded with a radar, obtained good results in night battles. A total of 364 devices of F7F were built.
