The Lockheed U-2 is amongst the best known high-altitude reconnaissance aircraft within the reputation for aviation and an icon of Cold War. The growth of the aircraft had been approved in the early 1950’s using the first flight in 1955. The U-2 had been characterized by its large wing area and wingspan. Its aerodynamic framework enabled it to work at an altitude of 70,000 legs (over 21,000 meters) and undertake intelligence gathering operations utilizing very advanced photographic and movie recording systems. It had been first used operationally by the C.I.A. after which by the U.S.A.F. The style had been enhanced over time, and ultimately resulted in the development of the TR-1A version to undertake high altitude tactical reconnaissance missions. With this part the TR-1 had been built with side-looking radar, contemporary avionics systems and ECM (Electronic countermeasures).
