To deal with poor people road conditions in the Eastern front side, the Germans built tracked tractors to tow all types of cars and in addition serve to hold different lots from ammo to food materials. The state description of this car had been “Raupenschlepper-Ost” (tracked tractor-East).The RSO/1 had been built by the Steyr-works in then annexed Austria. It had a commercial-type pressed steel cab, but a wooden cargo human body. It proved ideal for the mud and slush conditions of the Russian front side. The cars had been area of the hopeless German efforts in order to avoid beat by the overwhelming Soviet armies.
