Mameluks wore Turkish costumes and kept them even with they passed in French solution. Enlisted into the Imperial Guard cavalry, these were unmistakably identifiable the shape of their uniforms, the cahouk with turban together with curved blades of this Mameluke sabres. History recalls their cost against the Tzar's Guard Cavalry at Austerlitz.
