The McLaren P1 GTR is a track-focused evolution of the P1 supercar, developed for circuit use with greater aerodynamic downforce and optimized performance compared with the road-legal P1. Produced as a limited, non-road-legal variant, the P1 GTR was showcased at high-profile automotive events such as Pebble Beach and is intended for closed-course driving and demonstration.
As a readyset, the product ships with a fully assembled MR-04 chassis, a painted and decal-finished McLaren P1 GTR body, and a Syncro KT-531P 2.4GHz transmitter. The MR-04 chassis is an evolution of the MR-03 platform, featuring a lower center of gravity, revised front knuckles with integrated kingpins to reduce scrub, and matching ball bearing sizes front and rear to lower rotational resistance. The chassis uses a geared differential for smoother cornering, and the rear pod employs a T-bar suspension plate with a coil spring damper; an optional oil-filled shock is available separately. Power is provided by a 130-class brushed motor in the standard readyset, and the kit requires AAA batteries for both chassis and transmitter. The readyset accepts a wide range of MINI-Z optional parts for performance tuning, and it can accommodate an optional gyro unit for easier control. Note that the separately sold LED light unit MZW429R is not compatible with the McLaren P1 GTR body supplied with this readyset.
