This is a 1/12 scale assembly model representing the Ducati Desmosedici, positioned as a display-focused kit that reproduces V4 engine and truss-frame details at scale.
The Desmosedici road-racing machines were developed by Ducati as a compact V4 sportbike derived from two 90 degree L-twin banks sharing a common crankcase. Introduced in 2003, the design paired a 16-valve V4 with a tubular steel truss-frame and an engine-mounted swingarm pivot. Early seasons saw the machine campaigned by riders such as Loris Capirossi and Troy Bayliss, with competitive results at circuits including Suzuka and Catalunya during the 2003 season.
Kit detail focuses on mechanical accuracy and external realism. The truss-frame and the V4 layout are represented in injection-molded parts, and the rear suspension mounting reflects the engine-attached swingarm arrangement. Control lines for throttle, clutch and brake are modeled as plastic tubing, and synthetic rubber tires replicate slick racing profiles. Side and seat cowlings are removable after assembly to allow viewing of the engine area. Cartograf decals are provided for two race liveries, covering the No.65 and No.12 rider options. Note that specific white sponsor marking decals are omitted by request.
A kit aimed at modelers and collectors who prioritize accurate external engineering and displayable engine detail in 1/12 scale.
