This model depicts the unique Inter-coloring edition YZR-M1 that raced into the 2005 U.S. MotoGP. The commemorative special edition bike had been produced to celebrate the 50th anniversary of founding of Yamaha Motor. Tamiya?s model faithfully replicates the distinctive markings of U.S. Grand Prix edition, with the compact and streamlined kind of the 2005 YZR-M1.

The distinctive yellowish human body with black strobe pattern is founded on the image colors of Yamaha Overseas Corporation (Y.I.C.), predecessor of Yamaha Motor Corporation USA founded in 1977. It was the coloring showcased regarding YZR500 which won three consecutive 500cc Grand Prix in 1978-80. This specific coloring and graphic has long been popular with fans, and it is an important part of Yamaha rushing history. Gauloises Team Yamaha opted for this color scheme because of its unique version bike that raced in 2005 MotoGP Round 8, U.S. Grand Prix.
