• No bike in the MotoGP series enjoyed equivalent level of success while the Fiat Yamaha YZR-M1 during the 2009 periods. From the 17 races, only once did Valentino Rossi or teammate Jorge Lorzeno not finish in the podium. With a combined 10 wins, they finished first and 2nd into the standings correspondingly. The YXR-M1 was revised from 2008 model to better handle the spec tires getting used in the show. With a lower life expectancy center of gravity, paid down fuel consumption and great motor energy all helped dominate the 2009 MotoGP season.
