This is a 1/24 scale plastic assembly kit reproducing the Toyota Celica LB Turbo Gr.5, issued as a re-release of a classic motorized kit and positioned for modelers seeking a detailed period Group 5 racer replica.
The real Toyota Celica LB Turbo Gr.5 was developed for the 1977 DRM (Deutsche Rennsport Meisterschaft) based on the Celica Liftback. It featured wide overfenders, large rear wing and extensive use of lightweight body panels to meet Group 5 regulations. The competition car used a heavily modified 2,090cc turbocharged inline-four with dual overhead cams and competitive power output for its era, debuting in mid 1977 and securing notable results against contemporary rivals.
As a kit reissue, this release updates the original tooling with new Cartograf decals, a revised instruction sheet and refreshed packaging. The plastic parts provide cockpit detail including a roll cage, a representational chassis underside and suspension components. Mesh-style wheels are supplied together with solid synthetic rubber slick tires. The set includes one driver figure and multiple car number options on the decal sheet.
The kit provides a period-accurate exterior profile and a focused set of details suited to display builds of a late 1970s Group 5 Celica; its decal and wheel/tire choices support authentic presentation for collectors and builders.
