The Type 3 Chi-Nu was one of the final armored vehicles developed by Japan during World War II, representing a significant step in the evolution of Japanese tank design. Launched in May 1944 as an upgrade to the earlier Type 97 Chi-Ha, the Chi-Nu featured a 240hp Type 100 V-12 diesel engine and was equipped with a Type 3 75mm gun, aiming to rival the Allies' M4 Sherman. Despite producing 200 units, these tanks were primarily stationed within Japan and did not engage in combat against Allied forces.
This 1/35 scale model by Tamiya allows enthusiasts to recreate the iconic Japanese medium tank with remarkable precision. The kit includes four crew figures, enabling the creation of dynamic dioramas straight from the box. The inclusion of Fine Molds' components ensures an authentic build experience, while the belt-type tracks provide a straightforward assembly process.
