• This set illustrates 4 Russian commander figures and a captured Kubelwagen pressed into service as a staff automobile by the Russian Army.
• Historic back ground
  The German intrusion of Russia in 1941 led to a serious losses the Russian army. However, Russian commanders returned from all of these very early defeats to produce victories at the Battle of Stalingrad while the Battle of Kursk. Over these battles, the Russian military often captured German automobiles and employed them in their own units. The Kubelwagen had been among these captured automobiles plus some got Russian registration figures and utilized as staff cars.
