The 1/700 Water Line Series is made in-may 1971 by a collaborative work by four Japanese model manufacturers arranging the Shizuoka vinyl Model Manufacturers' Association in those days. The series features WWII and contemporary warships from the navies of varied countries. This present year marks the 40th anniversary of the show as well as the three manufacturers from the relationship (Tamiya, Aoshima, and Hasegawa) collaborated to commemorate this historic event. Each maker will launch a well known Japanese battleship model from their line-up and Tamiya find the Yamato as the special model.
