The British Battleship King George V WWII produced by Tamiya in 1/700 scale assembly kit, is classified in Scale Models - Military Series - Navy - Battleship/ Cruiser

The ship was launched on Feb 21, 1939 and completed for solution on Oct 1,1940 by which time World War 2 had been already fought for a year. After a vacation to United States Of America, she covered the Lofoten raid (March 1941) and Atlantic convoys before becoming flagship of British Residence Fleet in April 1941. In May 1941 she led the chase associated with German Bismarck and saw action the very first time. Through 1941-42 King George V participated in various search and escort operations inside Atlantic and in-may 1943 she went to the Mediterranean taking part in all the big naval operations within the Allied invasion of Sicily and Italy.
