This is a fully assembled RC-scale rear complete differential designed for use with select TAMIYA 1/10 chassis. The BBX52S replaces the factory BBX BB-01 rear differential (54471) and converts the original ball-type differential into a steel bevel-gear unit built from 40Cr steel with a 52-tooth gear count. The assembly is supplied pre-assembled and includes thin stainless washers to fine-tune bearing clearance.
Installation notes: when fitting to TAMIYA BBX models remove the two foam spacers before installation, while XV01 installations do not require foam removal and can be fitted directly. The kit does not include differential oil, which must be added separately. For applications where both ends use this unit, purchasing two sets is recommended.
Tuning and service guidance: the stainless steel 10x12x0.3mm washers are provided to adjust play at the bearings, and medium-strength threadlocker is recommended on fasteners to protect against loosening during running. No additional tools or modifications are required beyond standard disassembly of the rear gearbox area on the listed chassis.
The BBX52S offers a direct, metal-gear upgrade path for compatible TAMIYA 1/10 models where a durable steel bevel differential is preferred over the stock ball-type unit; refer to the chassis-specific notes before fitting.
