It is finished in a light blue anodised aluminum that replaces standard plastic or steel diff housings where ball differentials are supported.

Functionally, the unit provides a precision seating surface for the diff balls and allows the differential action to be tuned via shims and clutching methods common to TAMIYA ball diffs.
