This is an aluminum rear shock tower intended for use on 1/10-scale Tamiya Thunder Shot and Thunder Dragon buggies, supplied by JAZRIDER under model JR-TSD02-BK. It is designed as a direct replacement hop-up for the rear suspension tower to provide a stiffer mounting point for the shock absorbers and associated linkage parts.
Fit and installation: the tower replaces the stock plastic piece and uses the existing chassis screw points and shock mounting holes. When installing, confirm hole alignment and use the original hardware where possible to retain correct ride geometry. Small adjustments to shock length or shock position may be required after installation to restore stock ride height and camber settings.
Tuning role: swapping to an aluminum tower reduces flex at the shock mount, which changes suspension feedback and can improve consistency on rough surfaces. Use this part when experimenting with spring rates, shock oil, or camber link positions to evaluate how reduced mount flex affects handling. Note that the change is purely at RC scale, and additional setup changes may be needed to balance handling.
