Main gear for Tamiya TL-01

This is an aftermarket hardened steel main gear manufactured by GPM for use in Tamiya TL-01 scale RC cars. The gear uses hardened steel #45 to provide a durable mating surface for the spur and pinion interaction, supplied as 1pc. Teeth count is supplied as 34T on the larger side and 24T on the smaller side, intended for direct replacement in TL-01 drivetrains.

Functionally this gear transmits drive torque through the gearbox to the drivetrain; when replacing, inspect the pinion gear (motor pinion) and bearings for wear before installation. Ensure proper gear mesh and axial alignment in the gearbox to avoid premature wear and to maintain smooth power delivery.

Installation notes: remove the gearbox cover, transfer any necessary shims or spacers from the old gear, fit the new gear onto the shaft ensuring correct orientation, then verify backlash and mesh under rotation. No additional parts are required beyond standard TL-01 maintenance items.

It is designed for Tamiya TL-01 chassis main gear locations; confirm your chassis uses a 34T/24T main gear arrangement before purchase.
The gear is made from hardened steel #45 to provide increased wear resistance compared with standard mild steel gears.
Set gear mesh with the motor seated and the gearbox closed, use a thin feeler method or paper test, then verify no binding across a few rotations.
