Front CVD drive shaft upgrade

The GPM SSLA1280FHA front CVD drive shaft is an aftermarket replacement designed for TRAXXAS Slash 1/10 4x4 platforms. It combines stainless steel 304 axle joints with an aluminum 6061-T6 body to balance corrosion resistance and reduced weight for the front drivetrain.

Construction highlights include stainless steel 304 for the axle joint cores to resist rust, and a thicker shaft profile compared with the stock part to improve wear life. The aluminum housing is machined to accept the joint assembly and is offered in multiple colors for visual matching during rebuilds.

Silicon O-rings are fitted around the joint area to cushion shock transfers to the CVD when landing or during hard impacts, and the joint design places the pivot components inside the shaft envelope for added protection against debris and direct strikes.

Small hardware items referenced with the assembly include 3mm steel hex shims, M4x2.5x11 and 3x3 screw shafts, and silicone O-rings, with the 3mm steel hex shims noted as an optional part during installation.

Installation notes: replace one side at a time to preserve alignment, verify spline engagement and wheel hex fitment before final tightening, and check for binding after fitting to the front gearbox and suspension travel.
