Front shock tower for BD9

This graphite front shock tower is designed for BD9-series RC touring cars to alter the suspension kinematics by moving the shock pivot 1mm upward. The small pivot rise increases the upper stroke available to the shock, which helps prevent the damper from bottoming during large body roll or when a wheel encounters a sudden drop on corner exit.

Fit and function are focused on tuning: raising the pivot slightly shifts leverage, giving a bit more compliance at full compression and a steadier feel through high-speed corners. Use this tower when you want to reduce hard bottom-outs without changing spring rate or damping, or when track surfaces produce abrupt compression events.

Installation is straightforward for someone familiar with BD9 chassis service. Replace the factory front shock tower using your standard hex driver and retain hardware; check shock shaft freeplay after installation and re-evaluate ride height and droop settings as a tuning follow-up.

Remark :
Due to limited stock availability, please notice that some Yokomo items may have to order from the factory and the ready time is around 4-6 weeks. Customer purchases the item is assumed to accept the waiting time which allows us to order directly from the manufacturer if the item is out of our warehouse.
The 1mm rise increases the shock's upper stroke and softens end-of-travel reaction, helping to avoid bottoming and improving stability during large roll moments.
This part is specified for BD9 platforms; check the listed compatible models to confirm fit before purchase.
Not necessarily, but you should recheck droop and ride height and adjust damping or spring rate if the desired handling balance changes.
