Wheel and steering bearing upgrade

This Yokomo D-148 bearing set is designed as a direct upgrade for assembled Drift Racer drift kits, replacing bushings or worn bearings in wheel hubs and steering support points. The set clarifies the role of bearings in reducing rotational friction and delivering more predictable slide behaviour during drift practice.

Installation is straightforward for model-level work: remove existing retainers in the front and rear hubs and the steering support, press the matching bearings into place, and reassemble with the original hardware. Use light grease meant for metal bearings only where axial play must be damped, and avoid over-torquing hub fasteners which can preload the bearings and increase rolling resistance.

Tuning note: swapping to full metal bearings like the D-148 set helps reduce slop in wheel rotation and steering return feel, which assists in consistent throttle-to-angle transitions for drifting. Bearings affect free-rolling characteristics and feedback to the driver rather than changing suspension geometry or motor output.
