Titanium-coated rear shock shaft for R12/GT

This is a replacement rear shock shaft and piston designed for the Yokomo R12/GT series as an RC-scale accessory. The shaft surface is fully titanium coated to reduce surface wear, which helps protect the damper O-ring and maintain smoother damper action over time. The part is intended for use with standard rear pitching dampers supplied in R12 kits and with wider-spec R12 and GT series front dampers where applicable.

Installation notes: the shaft replaces the original rear damper piston shaft, slide it through the damper body and seal assembly in the same orientation as the original part. Verify O-ring seating and confirm free piston travel before final assembly. Use appropriate shock oil and follow existing damper disassembly procedures for your R12/GT chassis.

Tuning role: a harder, scratch-resistant shaft surface reduces micro-abrasion around the O-ring, which can stabilise damping characteristics over repeated runs and reduce the need for frequent shaft replacement. It does not change internal piston geometry or hole sizing, so damping adjustments remain dependent on piston choice and oil viscosity.

Yes, it is designed to work with the kit standard rear pitching damper for the R12 series.
The coating reduces surface wear and O-ring abrasion but does not change piston hole sizes, so damping is unchanged aside from improved longevity.
Ensure the O-ring is correctly seated, use a light film of shock oil to ease assembly, and inspect for cuts before final fitting.
