The Yokomo RD-630BL is an RC-scale lightweight spur gear hub designed for use on Yokomo drift platforms in the RD, SD and MD families. Its larger diameter positions the spur gear closer to the gear case compared with the series standard hub, which helps hold the spur gear more securely and reduces vibration transmitted through the drivetrain.

Because the spur gear sits nearer the gear case, the hub reduces bending stress on the top shaft during abrupt throttle changes, providing a more direct feel of acceleration in on-track drifting and practice sessions. The design keeps focus on tuning behavior rather than adding components not stated in the source material.

Note on replacement: when swapping the factory-standard spur gear hub (examples: Y4-630A, Y2-630PA, Y2-630RA), the set-screw fixing position differs; Yokomo specifies a dedicated aluminum top shaft RD-631 for proper fit and secure installation.
