Spur gear hub overview

The RD-630R is a lightweight spur gear hub designed for use on Yokomo RD/SD/MD series drift chassis as an RC-scale accessory. Its larger outside diameter increases the contact area with the spur gear, improving holdability and helping to reduce rotational vibration under load.

By locating the spur closer to the gear case compared with earlier hubs, the hub lowers bending stress on the top shaft during sudden throttle inputs, producing a more direct transmission feel without implying any real-vehicle application.

When replacing the series standard spur gear hub types (for example Y4-630A, Y2-630PA, Y2-630RA), note that the set screw fixing position differs; fitting the RD-630R in place of those hubs requires the special aluminum top shaft RD-631. Verify top shaft compatibility before installation and check spur alignment after fitting.
