SLF short shock spring cup (BD7-2014)

This RC-scale accessory is a replacement spring cup specifically formed for SLF short shock assemblies and named in the product as a match for BD7-2014 dampers. Its role is to provide a stable seating surface for the spring inside short-stroke shock bodies and to allow precise adjustment of spring preload and spring seating height without modifying the shock shaft or spring retainer.

Installation is straightforward for anyone familiar with basic shock servicing: disassemble the shock body, remove the existing spring cup and spring, position the new spring cup on the shock shaft or lower assembly as required by your SLF short-shock layout, then reassemble and check free movement. Use the same seals and spacers from the original assembly to maintain damper oil containment and stroke characteristics.

In tuning terms, swapping the spring cup affects spring seat position and preload range more than oil damping. Small changes to the cup height can alter ride height and initial spring engagement, which in turn impacts chassis balance and transient response. Inspect for lateral play after fitting and recheck preload and endstops during the first test runs.

Remark :
Due to limited stock availability, please notice that some Yokomo items may have to order from the factory and the ready time is around 4-6 weeks. Customer purchases the item is assumed to accept the waiting time which allows us to order directly from the manufacturer if the item is out of our warehouse.
It is specified for SLF short shock assemblies referenced to BD7-2014 dampers, use it where the SLF short-shock geometry is required.
The cup mainly changes spring seat and preload, it does not change oil viscosity or piston valving, so damping should remain governed by your oil and piston choice.
Keep original spacers and seals, verify spring alignment and eliminate side play, and recheck preload after initial test runs.
