Progressive drift springs for RC tuning

This is a pair of progressive drift springs from Yokomo designated YOKD171BL, produced as a small-scale RC accessory for fine adjustment of drift setups. The springs are described as soft blue with a progressive 1.1 x 10.5 turns winding, supplied as 2pcs for installation in suspension assemblies used on drift-oriented 1/10-scale RC cars.

Purpose and role: these springs change their effective rate as they compress, giving a softer initial response with increasing stiffness under larger deflection, which helps control weight transfer and lateral grip during controlled slides. Use them to alter balance between front and rear, to refine throttle-on and throttle-off behaviour, and to tune how quickly a car settles after a drift entry.

Installation notes: verify fitment to your shock shafts and spring cups before final assembly, compress springs carefully with matching collars or pre-load adjusters, and avoid forcing springs onto shafts that do not match their internal diameter. Always test changes incrementally, swapping one end of the car at a time to evaluate handling differences.

Tuning tips: start with small incremental changes in spring placement or pre-load, pair these springs with consistent damping and tyre choices, and keep logs of setup changes so you can return to a known baseline. These springs are intended for RC-scale drift practice and competition use only.

Remark :
Due to limited stock availability, please notice that some Yokomo items may have to order from the factory and the ready time is around 4-6 weeks. Customer purchases the item is assumed to accept the waiting time which allows us to order directly from the manufacturer if the item is out of our warehouse.
Progressive means the spring rate increases with compression, giving softer initial travel and firmer resistance as the spring compresses more.
Fit depends on shock shaft diameter and spring cup size, so confirm physical dimensions before installing, test fit without forcing the parts.
Change one element at a time, note differences in entry and exit stability, and run multiple laps to confirm consistent behaviour before further adjustments.
