Ultra Shock Oils #25 — Shock tuning fluid

The Yokomo YOKRP-085250 Ultra Shock Oils #25 Racing Performer is an RC-scale silicone shock fluid used to set and refine damping characteristics in silicone-filled shock absorbers.

As a tuning fluid, its primary role is to adjust rebound and compression behaviour by changing the oil viscosity inside the shock body; this allows controlled changes to how the suspension responds to different track surfaces and driving inputs without altering mechanical parts.

When working on shocks, use a clean, controlled service process: drain the old fluid fully, inspect internal components such as pistons and seals for wear, then refill with the selected viscosity and test under the same conditions used for tuning. Keep records of viscosity changes and observed handling to build a repeatable setup approach.

Choose viscosities methodically during setup sessions, combine fluid changes with spring and shock position adjustments, and evaluate results incrementally on the track or test surface to isolate the effect of the oil change on vehicle behaviour.

Remark :
Due to limited stock availability, please notice that some Yokomo items may have to order from the factory and the ready time is around 4-6 weeks. Customer purchases the item is assumed to accept the waiting time which allows us to order directly from the manufacturer if the item is out of our warehouse.
25wt refers to the oil viscosity class, affecting flow through pistons and orifices so it influences both rebound and compression rates, giving a balance between quick response and controlled damping.
Mixing viscosities will change the effective damping, but it can make results less predictable; for consistent setup records it's better to use a single known viscosity and change gradually between tests.
Store sealed bottles in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and contaminants, and label opened containers with viscosity and date to maintain setup consistency.
