This Yokomo shock oil is a silicone-based fluid formulated for R/C shock absorbers, provided as a single-grade option identified by the #600 label. It is sold as an accessory for scale R/C cars and intended to adjust damping characteristics without modifying mechanical parts.
Use and tuning role: the oil changes rebound and compression rates inside oil-filled shocks, affecting traction, body movement and responsiveness during cornering and landings. In practice #600 grade increases damping compared with lighter grades, helping to control oscillation on smooth tracks or higher-speed layouts.
Installation notes: service shocks on a clean bench, remove pistons and shafts, drain the old oil, refill the shock body and piston with the new fluid, then reassemble and bleed air by cycling the shaft slowly. Test on a short run and fine-tune by changing oil grade or piston shims rather than altering shock length.
