Shock Spring for Pitching Damp

The Yokomo YOKYX-40SS is a dedicated RC-scale shock spring specified for use with pitching-damp style shock assemblies. It is intended as a replacement or tuning spring for general R/C shock units where pitch control of the chassis is a tuning focus. The product is supplied with a silver finish to match aesthetic preferences on model cars.

Installation is straightforward for standard shock builds: remove the shock cap, compress the shock assembly as required, slide the spring over the shock shaft and seat it against the spring retainer or lower spring perch. Check spring seating and preload before final reassembly to ensure consistent travel and avoid binding during full compression.

In tuning terms this spring affects pitching behaviour: a firmer spring increases resistance to nose dive and pitch under braking or acceleration, while a softer spring allows more pitch movement and softer initial responses. Use the spring in combination with appropriate damper oil and pistons for balanced setup changes, and verify changes on track or practice runs to observe the effect on handling.

Remark :
Due to limited stock availability, please notice that some Yokomo items may have to order from the factory and the ready time is around 4-6 weeks. Customer purchases the item is assumed to accept the waiting time which allows us to order directly from the manufacturer if the item is out of our warehouse.
It is compatible with R/C general shock assemblies designed for pitching-damp setups, intended as a replacement or tuning spring for those units.
Remove the shock cap, compress the shock if needed, slide the spring over the shaft, seat it on the retainer or perch, set preload, then reassemble and test travel.
The silver finish is cosmetic and does not alter the spring's basic mechanical role; tuning results depend on spring rate and damper setup rather than color.
