This RC-scale accessory is designed to provide incremental control over gear mesh and lateral spacing in model drivetrains. Drive gear shims are thin spacers used between mating gears or between a gear and a bearing surface to correct play, reduce binding, and refine gear alignment without replacing major components.

Installation is straightforward on most hobby drivetrains: remove the affected gear, add or remove a shim to shift axial position, then reassemble and verify mesh under slow rotation. Small changes in shim thickness can noticeably affect noise, wear patterns, and drivetrain feel, so adjust in small steps and re-check clearance.
