Damper ball-seat O-ring

The Yokomo YR-10O is an O-ring designed for the ball seat in YR-10F dampers, intended as a replacement sealing element for RC-scale shock assemblies. It serves to maintain oil retention at the ball-seat interface and to minimise unwanted lateral play that can affect damper response.

Installation is straightforward for experienced model tuners: remove the shock end cap and ball seat, inspect mating surfaces for debris, fit the O-ring into the ball-seat groove, then reassemble and check for smooth articulation. Perform a leak check after reassembly and run a few compression cycles to seat the ring.

In tuning, a healthy O-ring helps keep damping consistent lap after lap by preserving oil levels and reducing minor ball-seat movement that can introduce variability. Replace worn rings as part of routine shock maintenance to keep rebound and damping behaviour stable.
