HSS Long Shock Spring Overview

The Yokomo YS-1480 HSS Long Shock Spring is an RC-scale replacement spring designed for use inside standard shock assemblies to alter spring rate and feel. It comes in an orange finish and is intended for hobby-grade tuning rather than stock repair.

This spring's role is purely mechanical within the suspension system: fitting over the shock shaft inside the shock body to change how the assembly compresses and rebounds under load. Use it when you want a straightforward way to stiffen or soften the suspension without changing pistons or oil.

Installation is simple for anyone familiar with threaded shock assemblies: disassemble the shock, remove the original spring, slide the YS-1480 into place, and reassemble. Check spring preload and ride height after fitting, then test on a short run to verify handling before extended use.

Tuning notes: expect incremental changes to cornering balance and mid-stroke support when swapping spring rates or lengths. Combine spring changes with progressive shocks, different oils, or adjustable collars to fine-tune response rather than relying on a single modification.

Remark :
Due to limited stock availability, please notice that some Yokomo items may have to order from the factory and the ready time is around 4-6 weeks. Customer purchases the item is assumed to accept the waiting time which allows us to order directly from the manufacturer if the item is out of our warehouse.
HSS is part of the product name indicating the spring family and should be treated as the listed attribute for identifying the part, it does not imply specific hardness values here.
Changing to a different spring length or rate can affect static ride height, so check preload and adjust collars or mounting points as needed after installation.
Periodic inspection for corrosion and proper seating in the shock assembly is recommended, especially after exposure to dirt or moisture.
