This Yokomo YX-40S shaft and piston set is an RC-scale replacement intended for the pitching damper on 1/12 YRX 12 competition cars. The kit supplies pistons with two-hole and three-hole options so you can select flow characteristics that suit your damping setup. The part is specified for use on YR-X12 and YR-X1219 chassis.

Installation is straightforward for anyone familiar with 1/12 dampers: remove the damper from the car, disassemble the shock body, swap the piston and shaft assembly, then reassemble using the same oil and shim setup you prefer. Check seals and O-rings during reassembly and run a few test passes to confirm damping response.

Tuning note: the included 2-hole and 3-hole pistons change the fluid flow rate through the piston, affecting mid- and high-speed damping feel. Use the 2-hole option for comparatively stronger restriction and the 3-hole option for quicker flow, then fine-tune oil weight and piston position to match track conditions.
